He succeeds Marie-Hélène Tric. Didier Guérin will chair the second section of the Commission.
After the partial renewal of the Enforcement Committee following the departure of four members, Marie-Hélène Tric, Bruno Gizard, Christophe Lepitre and Bernard Field, and the renewal of two members, Sophie Schiller and Edwige Belliard, the newly formed Enforcement Committee was able to elect its new chairman at its first meeting on 22 September 2021. Jean Gaeremynck, section chairman at the Conseil d'Etat and member of the Enforcement Committee since April 2016, succeeds Marie-Hélène Tric.
As permitted by the Monetary and Financial Code, the Commission is organised into two sections, each composed of six members and chaired by one of the Councillors of State or Councillors of the Court of Cassation. The Commission may meet in plenary session or in a section to rule on a case.
The chairman of the Enforcement Committee was elected by the members of the Committee from among four judges appointed by the Vice-President of the Conseil d'Etat and the First President of the Cour de Cassation. The Commission in its plenary session and the first section are therefore chaired by Jean Gaeremynck. The members of the Commission also elected Didier Guérin, honorary chamber president at the Court of Cassation and member of the Enforcement Committee since February 2018, as chairman of the second section.
