Clearing: France asks for a "clear signal"

Esma (European Securities and Markets Authority) had granted recognition to three British clearing houses LCH Ltd, ICE Clear Ltd and LME Clear Ltd.

Secretary of State Clément Beaune is pushing for a firm deadline for the equivalence granted to British clearing houses in the EU: LCH, ICE and LME. The European Commission is extending the transitional period from June 2022 to June 2025, at the request of the financial industry, which feared major disruption. Many jobs are at risk.
